Show Up Anyway
Some weeks presence looks like thriving... Some weeks it looks like refusing to quit...

What’s Good Friend!
Lately, I’ve been realizing that sometimes we just need a reminder to keep showing up: Not perfectly. Not with all the answers. Not fully healed, fully rested, fully “figured out.”
Just… show up anyway.
Because if I’m honest, showing up is the thing I keep having to choose. Even when it costs me something. Even when I’m still carrying things I haven’t fully processed yet. Even when the most truthful answer to “how are you?” is, “Honestly? I’m still figuring that out.” And I think that’s what presence really is.
Not the aesthetic version of it. Not the version where life is perfectly color-coded, your routines are flawless, your water intake is immaculate, and every day feels intentional and inspired. That version is cute, sure. But it’s not always real life… it’s just not. The real version of presence looks a little different.
It looks like showing up on a Sunday when you’d rather disappear for a while.
It looks like choosing hope when heaviness would honestly feel easier.
It looks like deciding… again and again… that you are not done yet.
That this life you’re building is still worth being fully present for.
That you my friend are still worth showing up for it.
My brain has circling the drain a lot about what it means to fully inhabit your own life. Not just the beautiful parts. Not just the winning seasons, but the moments that ask more of you than you expected to give… And I do mean MORE…
And what I keep coming back to is that presence is not a feeling, it’s an intentional decision. Some days it feels natural, and some days it feels like the hardest thing you’ve done all week.
But we make the choice anyway, and we do this because we’re still here.
Still learning.
Still growing.
Still reaching.
And baby… that counts for something damn it. Actually, it counts for a lot.
I don’t have some polished life lesson for you today. Just this simple reminder:
Whatever this week is about to ask of you… you have what it takes. You’re still here.
And that matters more than you probably realize.
Some weeks presence looks like thriving, and some weeks it looks like refusing to give up on yourself.
Both count, and are real, and also very much enough!
With love + intention,
Shakeyla M. Ingram
P.S. Don’t strive to be perfect… strive to be present…
